No Prefunding, No Custom API: The Real Test Starts Now

By: Alex Mercer – SeaPRwire – Institutional crypto still carries two frictions that traditional wholesale desks refuse. One is the need to prefund. The other is the need to build and maintain a separate exchange API. 4OTC’s Libre Liquidity Bridge has just removed both for TP ICAP’s Fusion Digital Assets. Liquidity providers can now stream spot prices directly. The open question is whether the flow follows the connection.

On 5 October 2026 in the City of London, 4OTC announced the integration of its Libre Liquidity Bridge with TP ICAP’s Fusion Digital Assets. The link lets liquidity providers stream spot cryptocurrency liquidity to the venue at ultra-low latency. TP ICAP selected 4OTC on the basis of the firm’s existing record in both digital-asset and FX segments. The connection is described as a fast, resilient and streamlined route that supports efficient price distribution and execution through 4OTC’s low-latency technology. Fusion Digital Assets runs a matched-principal model. Participants trade without prefunding and face TP ICAP as an investment-grade intermediary. The structure is presented as improving capital efficiency, reducing counterparty and operational complexity, and aligning spot crypto closer to the standards of traditional wholesale markets. Alexis Atkinson, Co-Founder of 4OTC, called the link a significant milestone and said bringing liquidity providers onto the venue is exactly the partnership the firm was built for. He added that digital-asset trading is maturing fast and that 4OTC’s focus remains trusted and reliable connectivity for institutional participants. Chay Pollard, Director of Digital Assets Electronic Broking at TP ICAP, stated that institutional adoption requires trusted infrastructure and efficient connectivity. Through the Libre service, liquidity providers can connect without any exchange API development work, making access faster, simpler and more scalable. The partnership, he said, reflects a continued focus on importing the standards, connectivity and market structure of traditional wholesale markets into digital assets. Building on the matched-principal launch, the venue is expanding its tradable universe. Support for stablecoins such as USDC is included. Cryptoasset coverage is expanding to include SOL. Additional fiat currency pairs are planned. Future support for tokenised real-world assets is listed. Operating hours are moving from 23 hours, five days a week to continuous weekday trading, with weekend coverage to follow. 4OTC itself supplies institutional connectivity for digital-asset and FX markets. Its Libre platform connects liquidity providers to trading venues for price distribution and order routing. Additional products include 1API, a unified API for market data and orders, and TicketLounge for post-trade STP services. Fusion Digital Assets is a wholesale crypto exchange operated by TP ICAP exclusively for institutional participants, combining venue and execution expertise with segregated custodial capabilities. TP ICAP is a global interdealer broker with brands including ICAP, Tullett Prebon, PVM, Liquidnet and Parameta Solutions and offices in more than 60 locations across 28 countries.

The commercial test is volume under continuous hours. If the bridge carries consistent two-way prices in USDC and SOL during the new weekday window, the capital-efficiency claim becomes measurable. If liquidity providers still prefer to keep streams on venues that require prefunding or custom code, the integration remains a technical link rather than a structural shift. Watch the first full week of continuous weekday trading and the presence of those two new assets on the Libre feed. Those observations will show whether the friction really disappeared.
