BluWave-ai Scales EV Everywhere™ Platform Nationwide to Help Canadian Grids Manage Rapid EV Growth

OTTAWA, ON – 10/01/2026 – (SeaPRwire) – As Canada accelerates toward mass electric vehicle adoption, grid operators are confronting a fundamental challenge: how to support millions of new mobile loads without triggering decades of costly infrastructure expansion. BluWave-ai is positioning software intelligence—not concrete and copper—as a core solution. The company today announced the production-scale rollout of its EV Everywhere™ platform across Canadian electricity systems, enabling electric vehicles to function as flexible, grid-responsive energy assets at national scale.

The deployment builds on BluWave-ai’s previously announced, patent-pending Pan-Canadian EV Everywhere Infrastructure Cube and arrives as Canada passes a major electrification milestone. According to Electric Mobility Canada, more than one million electric vehicles are now registered nationwide, with federal targets calling for 4.6 million zero-emission vehicles on the road by 2030. Long-term projections point to even greater pressure on provincial grids, particularly in Ontario, where EV fleets could reach 11.5 million vehicles by 2050, potentially requiring up to $92 billion in traditional grid upgrades.

BluWave-ai’s EV Everywhere™ platform is designed to mitigate these pressures by orchestrating EV charging behavior in real time, allowing utilities to manage peak demand, defer infrastructure investments, and treat distributed EV batteries as a system-wide resource rather than a liability. The platform has already demonstrated the ability to reduce peak EV charging demand by more than 30 percent in targeted scenarios, offering utilities a scalable alternative to capital-intensive “poles and wires” solutions.

“When even a fraction of Canada’s EV fleet participates, the aggregate impact becomes significant,” said Devashish Paul, founder and CEO of BluWave-ai. “With roughly one-third of today’s EVs connected, the platform can unlock approximately 2.5 gigawatts of flexible capacity and 20 gigawatt-hours of storage—effectively transforming EVs into one of the largest distributed batteries in the country.”

A key enabler of the nationwide deployment is BluWave-ai’s expanded ecosystem of automotive connectivity partners. Central to this effort is its ongoing collaboration with Smartcar, which provides secure vehicle API access for direct-to-car communication. Through extensive multi-season testing, the two companies validated managed charging across a broad range of vehicle manufacturers, including Tesla, Kia, Hyundai, Ford, GM, BMW, Jaguar, Mini, and Porsche. This interoperability ensures that EV Everywhere™ can coordinate heterogeneous vehicle fleets across multiple provincial grids, independent of charging hardware or OEM.

“Our role is to abstract the complexity of vehicle connectivity so platform operators can focus on grid optimization,” said Sahas Katta, CEO of Smartcar. “By integrating through our cloud, BluWave-ai gains seamless access to diverse EV models, accelerating the integration of electric vehicles into Canada’s smart grid.”

Over the past two years, BluWave-ai executed 151 distinct operational scenarios across summer and winter conditions, validating a dual-resource approach that combines electric vehicles with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Results indicate that EV-based flexibility offers significantly higher capital efficiency than utility-scale batteries for non-wires alternatives, while BESS remains critical for sub-minute response and firming capacity.

“EVs represent a unique economic advantage because the capital cost is borne by consumers, not utilities,” said Thomas Triplet, Vice President of Technology at BluWave-ai. “By prioritizing EV curtailment and complementing it with strategically deployed storage, utilities can access a large, aggregated energy resource at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions.”

The EV Everywhere™ platform is further enhanced by BluWave-ai’s Energy Storage Autopilot™, which has moved into broader availability following deployment at Area X.O, a multi-sector research and development campus founded by Invest Ottawa. Together, the systems allow utilities and system operators to manage grid congestion, optimize battery performance, and coordinate EVs and front-of-the-meter storage as a unified resource.

Performance data from the program highlights substantial economic and operational benefits, including infrastructure deferral values ranging from $2.3 million to $7.9 million per 1,000 EVs, complete mitigation of synchronized “timer peaks,” and high consumer acceptance, with opt-out rates averaging just 4 percent.

To fully unlock these benefits, BluWave-ai is calling on regulators and system operators to modernize market rules. Recommendations include lowering participation thresholds to 100 kW in line with FERC Order 2222, allowing utilities to capitalize SaaS-based non-wires alternatives, and enabling the use of direct EV telemetry for measurement and verification.

The EV Everywhere™ platform is supported by a growing intellectual property portfolio, with 51 patents filed globally and 13 already granted in the United States. While current deployments focus on Canada, the system has been engineered for international scalability. BluWave-ai has already demonstrated this capability through collaboration with the Dubai Taxi Company, where the platform was used to optimize charging and energy use across a high-utilization commercial EV fleet operating under different grid conditions.

Beyond transportation electrification, BluWave-ai is also addressing grid strain from data-intensive industries. The company recently introduced its Data Center Autopilot™, designed to help colocation and hyperscale operators manage volatile, high-density power demand at the rack and application level. In combination with EV Everywhere™ and Energy Storage Autopilot™, the solution enables data centers to align workloads with real-time grid constraints, energy prices, and carbon intensity.

As Canada and global markets move toward electrification at unprecedented speed, BluWave-ai’s expanding software platform underscores a shift in grid strategy—one that treats intelligence, flexibility, and coordination as critical infrastructure in their own right.
